Point Contact Lay Wire Rope

The steel wires of the strands are twisted by layers. And for the reason that the twisting distance of every layers is different, the steel wires of every layers cross each other into point contact. Therefore, the steel wires of this structure belong to the variety to weed out, and can’t be used for important purpose.


The typical structure of the point contact lay wire rope have many forms, such as 6x19+FC( IWR、IWS)、6x37+FC(IWR、IWS)、6x61+FC(IWR、IWS)、6x24+7FC、18x19+FC(IWS) and so on.


Characteristics:


1、The diameter of all steel wires is same, except the steel wire in the centre.


2、The steel wire helix of adjacent layers in the strand is not parallel with each other and interveining touched.


3、The steel wires in last layer are not inlaid into the trench of adjacent steel wires in next layer, what is that the steel wires of adjacent layer “ walk by arris while by gutter from beginning to the end”.


4、The arrangement rule of steel wires in the strand is that the number of steel wire in every layer progressively increase 6 pieces from inside to outside.


5、The steel wires of point contacted in structure strand are contacted as punctiform,so their contact stress is heavy. When steel wire ropes bear load, the heavy contact stress among steel wires is inevitable to affect the working life of the steel wire ropes.
