The facial contacted wire rope: When steel wire ropes are twisting into stranding, the diameter of the strands in steel wire ropes, which are compactly processed through die drawing, rolling, forging and so on, will be small, and the surface of the strand will be smooth and the line contact among steel wires will be flat. The steel wire rope in every layers and among layers and layers of strand are both contacted with each other in the shape of helicoid , which is taken shape in the base of the structure of facial contacted.
The characteristics of the facial contacted wire rope:
1、By compressing plasticity and transforming, the steel wires in the strands are not circular fracture surface any more. Steel wires are contacted with each other in the shape of helicoid among steel wires and steel wires.
2、The filling coefficient of steel wire in strands is large ( often is over 0.9 ) and interspace among steel wires is so small.
3、The circular surface of the stranded rope is very smooth, which is similar to surface outside of locked coil wire ropes.
4、The structure of the facial contacted circular strands is stable. The location of steel wires in the strands is fixed and the extension of the structure is highly small.
